Inn and Xenophobia

Inn: What *does a typical visit to an inn entail for your character? What foods do they normally order?

If he’s staying for the night, then he orders his room with his meal/first drink. Too many times he’s tried to order a room only to find out that he drank away too much gold and had to sleep in an alleyway for the night (which he’s not particularly fond of doing).

Food and drinks vary on province, but usually it’s whatever local cuisine is available, accompanied with plenty of booze. Rarely has he come across dishes too adventurous for his palate, so it usually works out. He’ll order a little extra meat if he can afford it, and if not meat, then bread.

Xenophobia: Is your character racist? How do they feel about the racism plaguing Skyrim?

Yes and no. When he was younger, anything that wasn’t Argonian he distrusted greatly (due to the fact that his first encounter with non-Argonians, he was kidnapped and put into slavery, with all the not-fun that came with it). As he got older he slowly chilled out as he had positive and negative experiences with non-Argonians. Nowadays the most he gets is a mild wariness around Altmer, the initial unsureness if they’re involved with the Thalmor or not, but it usually passes relatively quickly.

As for the racism in Skyrim: it’s stupid.

What if J’hasi never met Maarzi?

For one thing, he wouldn’t be interacting with other muses as much. He’d be even more tired, mistrustful, guarded, and lonely than he is now. He wouldn’t’ve seen or appreciated nearly as much of Elsweyr as he did (even though he hates the north with all of its sand and other assorted bullshit). He’d be even more distant, aloof, and he wouldn’t seem to have nearly as much sense of humor. His interactions with people would be: check for work, ask for directions, ok bye. His depression and suicidal ideations would be a lot worse too.

So overall, not fun to be around, not really fun to play either :c

⚠:Would they seek revenge against someone who’s harmed them or the people they care about?

Yep. While revenge for Baht could arguably be paid already, J’hasi uses it and the deaths of the Blades as fuel for his vendetta against the Thalmor, though it’s more the former he thinks of than the latter these days. Prior to that, incidents of revenge were very few and far between. He’s not a fan of violence, but he does have a nasty temper. The lycanthropy doesn’t exactly help matters, either.

4: How do you get into your OC’s mindset to write for them? How do you find the muse for them?

Answered!

9: What is your OC like when at work? Are they diligent? Slacker? Do they get along with their co-workers?

Considering his ‘job’ is usually contracts/bounties… Well, he’s very focused on not winding up dead. He generally doesn’t like killing, but usually his targets have hurt/killed innocent people, so… He’ll get the job done right, and he’s pretty efficient at it come Skyrim times. He will not work with another person on a contract, after trying it once and nearly getting ganked by his ‘partner’ once the place was cleared out. The only exceptions to this was Shadows and Maarzi, and they were brothers at the time/after they’d become friends.

When he does work like picking crops, chopping firewood, nice basic work, he’s focused and chill. He works hard and is pretty friendly with whoever he chooses to work with. It’s usually a bartering system when he picks up that sort of work (like, help me fix the roof and I’ll give you a meal and a place to sleep for the night in the barn or smthn), so there’s no resentment.

11: Is there a place they go to in order to escape the world, the stresses of life? What’s their favourite place?

Someplace quiet and with a lack of people. Usually deeper sections of forest or wilderness are good places, but while staying in larger cities or in harsher environments he’ll hang out in a quiet alley or something. His favorite places are usually up a tree or somewhere where he can hear water moving, or finding warmish bodies of water to swim in undisturbed. While at the College he’ll stick in his room, sometimes the Arcanaeum, or in emergencies, under the stairways.

Mischief

J’hasi seems a lot calmer and more confident, a smile on his face that can easily shift into a smirk if his mischief involves antagonizing someone he doesn’t particularly like. His ears are relaxed, eyes soft, he stands up straighter, shoulders back and his tail is usually curled behind him, showing a self-confidence that isn’t displayed all that often. Depending on situation, sometimes his hands are held behind his back, holding onto his forearms to support them.

With those he’s close with, his smiles and occasional smirks are more teasing, usually smirking more with those he’s very close with, while his more vindictive smirks are saved for when he gets the better of those who usually set him on edge or irritate. With the more vindictive smirks and a few grins, his brows often furrow usually when whatever he’s planned goes off without a hitch and he’s left to gloat for a moment or two before trotting off.

8:Who was your muse’s first crush?

There was this cute Khajiit girl that Maarzi had feelings for when she was still pretty young yet. At the time she didn’t really know why out of all her friends she felt that weird tingling excitement in her stomach and thought of this one friend in particular so much, and it was something she didn’t realize was a crush until she was much older. Said friend had moved away by then, but it’s still a fond memory Maarzi has of her childhood.

10:Most problematic thing your muse has ever done?

Inadvertently destroying an entire culture’s basis of faith, destabilizing the region religiously and politically (and by extent, temporarily tightening the Empire’s hold on them), and setting them up for a natural disaster that made most of their homeland damn near uninhabitable and killed thousands of people. But hey, Azura gets her cult following back from false gods, so it’s cool right?

14:What is your muse’s deadly sin?

It took me a bit to understand this question, so according to here: wrath. This dummy can hold a grudge and don’t even get me started on his temper. Plus the whole, y’know, self…everything thing. J’hasi’s grudge against Azura is something that will probably last as long as he does tbh.

3. Tell us about a time they were rejected.

Maarzi tried asking out her friend Riheh several times, usually as sort-of-a-joke-but-sort-of-serious thing. The first few times were more of a startled ‘wtf no’ sort of response, usually with Riheh throwing whatever she had in her hands at her (flowers, papers, etc). Later on it was more of an amused no, with little else happening aside from resuming what they were doing/talking about.

17. What sort of characteristics or quirks draw them to someone?

J’hasi tends to gravitate towards people that can handle themselves and express kindness towards others, especially towards those less fortunate than themselves. Those who speak Jel/Dunmeris, Argonians, Dunmer, and most magic-users are usually given more interest initially, but unless there’s something to hold his attention, it won’t linger long.
