J’hasi frowned, perched on top of a stack of snowy crates and bundled up to ward off the cold while Ghost nosed around in the drifting flakes.
“Uh… It’s not…exactly pretty, I guess. I wasn’t formally trained in combat until later on in my adventuring days, so a lot of it is just stuff I picked up over the years and found worked, the rest is just improvisation for whatever situation I’m in.” He counted on his fingers.
“Upside, it’s harder to predict what my next move will be, because I don’t restrict myself to one or two styles of combat. Downside, if I mess up, I have to rely on my wits and my surroundings to save my ass.” He shrugged, dropping the fingers and rubbing his jaw.
“I mean…I primarily focus on speed and agility for my attacks. I prefer not to get hit if possible, and if I can end a fight quickly, I’ll take that route. If I have to tire out an opponent to bring them down, I can sustain a fight long enough assuming I’m not in armor that slows me down too much. I’m strong, but not that strong. The Blades tried to get me to wear their Akaviri armor more often, but…it’s harder to fight instinct in the moment and let things hit me, and I tire out quicker in the stuff.” The Khajiit picked up his spear, grip firm on the shaft as he spun it to set the haft on the ground, tail curling around it.
“Not many people use these nowadays apparently, so it adds a layer of challenge to fighting me. I can use nearly anything I can pick up, but I’m most effective with spears, daggers, one hand to hand-and-a-half swords, and bows. I prefer spears because it gives me some space between myself and what I’m fighting, daggers for when I have to be quick and quiet and up-close. Bows I’ve used for both short and long-range combat, but I’d rather have something more substantial in my grasp after the first close-combat blow.” J’hasi grew quiet then, looking down at the flakes circling down to the ground. The grey mare nickered, then nuzzled his jaw, bringing him out of his thoughts, a hand automatically coming up to rub at her cheek.
“I’m pretty good with dual-wielding blades. Used that a lot during the Great War.” he muttered quietly.
